The Labour Party won the 2005 UK general election with 35.3% of the popular British vote. The Conservative Party was just a few points behind with points behind at 32.3% of the popular vote, but because of the first past the post voting system, the Labour Party had a significant majority with 356 parliamentary seats […]

I think clearly by watching all the debates neither of the three leaders really know what they are doing. I think that no matter who gets the hot seat Britain is now more and more loseing its british way. They have stated about stopping immagration or trying to put a block on it, for me this is just going to be a cloudy mist to try and over-shaddow the mess that is already here. Immagration is to far gone as is the economy in this country. I find it sickening people like criminals and the immagrents of this country; that do not work and do their best to push this great country into turmoil still get the chance to vote and of course we know how they are voting for! i think that unless a party like the BNP or Ukip GET political power of this country soon we will be doomed for immagrents, benefit claims and more and more econmy downfull yet to come.

Why can’t people see through this election hype. There is only one Leader waiting and that is Cameron. His backroom staff and potential Ministers are all well educated and well au fait with business and are backed by all the major businesses. Why can’t the British people see all this and vote Conservatives on the day

I will not vote Tory because we will get a complete lightwieght chancellor in Osborne, no experiance in anything in the real world, when you see him in a photo call with the worlds financial leaders he looks like the boy who hands out the drinks and sandwiches.
What about the English Democrats?
I am unable to vote since I emigrated to France in 2001. I regret that I may not vote in the UK since this election is pivotal. I maintain my interest in GB politics and sense the excitement and apprehension. At last the tired Tories and equally tired New Labour have found a worthy adversary who actually speaks sense (and English).
Cameron constantly quotes 13 years of Labour misrule…how short-sighted is the British electorate…1997 to 2007…have you forgotten unparalleled prosperity compared to EU and USA in this time…who was in power…guess who?
Labour have suffered the fate of all long-ruling political parties…tiredness.
Remember Thatcher – Major – Haigh – oh what was his double-barrelled name (can you remember ?)
Thatcher was a great communicator, Blair was the ultimate for his time…what do we have now ???
Brown is God’s gift to communication as Marcel Marceaux was to sound radio, Cameron paints the perfect pictre of the old-school tie public schoolboy who has and never will grow up.
What are we left with?
Possibly Mr Clegg…he at least has worked for a living in the REAL WORLD before becoming enmeshed in UK party politics.
From personal experience, anyone who has worked and negotiated successfully at the highest levels with Russians, Chinese etc has my respect.
What did Brown and Cameron do before entering politics…being born is the general answer…men of no background and less ability.
Ask yourself quite simply…I have £1000 and have to loan it to one of these three gentlemen…which one do I trust to pay me back..perhaps even with interest???

Are you not aware that Nick Clegg comes from a priveleged background and indeed a private education ?
Not actually interested in your opinion, you sold out to France so concentrate on that country, and indeed do not criticise this side of the channel an the politicians involved in OUR election!
For me the real significance of the Gordon Brown “gaffe” was not the severity of the comment, as it was not particularly severe, but what it revealed about his true views on the subject. In public he tells us that Labour are taking steps to control immigration, in private someone expressing even mild opposition to it is instantly dismissed as a bigot. The only interest that Mr Brown could now have in controlling immigration would be to try and placate the public to save a few votes. This could be seen in last nights TV debate when all three leaders were almost too keen to talk about the subject. Of course, as usual none of them had anything satisfactory to say about it.
