The Labour Party won the 2005 UK general election with 35.3% of the popular British vote. The Conservative Party was just a few points behind with points behind at 32.3% of the popular vote, but because of the first past the post voting system, the Labour Party had a significant majority with 356 parliamentary seats […]

Mr Brown once again feels immigration is under control why why does he use the words net immigration and tell us the truth ACTUAL NUMBERS fron different areas of the world.Everywhere I go I feel I am in India or Pakistan. One of his advisors said immigration was never discussed at the cabinet.
I have a very wide circle of friends and immigration is always at the top of the list and the the way Labour supports high numbers coming in.
I can only say that they hope to have more votes.
PLEASE before you vote think about where you place it.I would say just a few BNP/ukip members .in the commons would bring a little bit of a shock to the major parities

I have been a lifelong Tory voter, but after looking at,hearing, and reading the various promises from the 3 main parties, I have decided NOT to place my vote for any of them. My reason for this is the fact that all 3 are MUCH THE SAME – all promises, and no real action.
The big debate between the three main party leaders ? Absolute nonsense ! – all they will do is effectively say – Yes, we did, No you didn’t – and behave like a bunch of petulant children. Most of their politicians just seem to be only interested in their big salaries, expenses, and ‘ring-fenced’ pensions that most of us ordinary people can only dream about.
What we need in this country is someone who is not afraid to stand up and say NO, NO, NO – this is how it has to be – a REAL leader, and not ‘in it for the perks’ A La Maggie ?
Stop Immigration, increase the police force numbers and powers, get rid of 24-hour drinking, give REAL support and equipment to our brave Forces, stop giving in to the various do-gooder groups, ‘elf’ & safety etc., etc., and in particular the EU, and promote good, SENSIBLE ideas which will benefit all the British people.
The British people are not stupid – we know that there HAS to be some pain if we are to undo the comprehensive mess that Brown has created and left us in over the last 12 years, both as Chancellor and PM, before we can get back to our rightful position in the World.

Jamie, don’t you think it’s a little ironic that you wrote: “john, for the first time a letter well written, no spelling mistakes, and it reads sense, worth reading, but dont desert the tories just get, they really cant do any worse, can they ?, surely thats impossible, a no vote will only let brown in, just think of ed balls, is that not enough of a turn off.”
It just goes to show that education must be the key issue this election should address.

of course i do think education is important, i was making a point that ed balls is not a good role model as education minister. we all have the same chance at school whether we take them is our choice, luckily all my family did well and i am proud of them, i can honestly say not one of them ever took a day off school throughout.

It always amazes me that people expect a change of government to change the world, make everything rosy and right all the world’s wrongs. What nonsense! Whichever party gets in will be made up of people not superheroes.
Blair/Brown may not have lived up to their promises but did they really do any worse than the Conservatives before them? Anyway, Adams didn’t vote for them in the first place, so what does he care?
In my view, whichever party gets elected should be labouring forward to build a better future, not trying to conserve the past. The clue is in the name…
Adams won’t be voting for any of the main parties – well that just goes to show how out of touch and marginalised his views have become! Suffice to say that his idea of a better Britain couldn’t be further from my own – thank God.
His views on immigration sound like something you’d expect to hear from the BNP. Nothing he wrote would benefit the British people. “No immigration”? We all live on this planet so THERE ARE NO ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. If you really want to eradicate immigration, eradicate 3rd World poverty!
And where’s Britain’s place in the World, Adams? I’ll tell you where; to the North of France and to the West of Holland, right where it belongs!

Amazed,
How dare you say that my comments are akin to the BNP ?????
I am only concerned with the pitiful plight that my Country has descended to, particularly under the Leadership (?) of Brown and Labour (but also under previous Tory Governments).
From your comments, we can only assume that you do not care about the extreme pressure that undue immigration has placed on our Services – such as the NHS, Police, etc., and that our Taxes have been increased (and will continue to increase) because of this ?
Nor do you seem to care that these same immigrants replace our own British workers because they are prepared to work for a pittance.
I have to ask you – are you really British, and do you REALLY care ?
I am, and I do, and I AM PROUD OF IT ! and want to see my beloved country prosper, and regain it’s rightful place in the World, Don’t you ?

How can this site be serious about non affiliation when on this page the only link to any party manifesto is what the Labour party think of Conservative policy? It is the first link in this article straight to Labours website, entitled Conservative manifesto.
Also I am still suprised people can find the Conservatives vile with the straight down contempt the Labour party has shown the entire UK population since 1997.

LOL, that’s a paid advert, I’m voting Labour, but I’m not giving them free advertising!
I use the Google AdSense program to generate income from my sites, so those links (in the square box) are Google AdSense ads and I have limited control over what they show (I could block specific domains, that’s about it).
If you check this page between now and the election the links (the adverts) will change (they’ll probably change if you reload the page).
As it happens the Conservatives video ads (web Cam YouTube videos) have been showing up far more often than anything from Labour since the Conservatives have wealthy supporters like Lord Ashcroft and are presumably out bidding Labour for more ad impressions. I recall hearing the Conservatives have about twice the money as Labour for the election campaign?
I’m making more money from this site right now than all my other sites put together. Yesterday made just over £100 from AdSense revenue just from this website, since the election was called it’s gone up a lot (I have the top result for General Election Poll for example so getting a lot of search engine traffic) and the parties are starting to throw money into online advertising.
So I am unbiased, quite happy to take any of the parties campaign money for them to advertise on my site via the AdSense ads :-)

UKIP are the ones we should all be looking at! Can you really trust Gordon Brown who has continually spent money? Can you really trust Conservatives after the disastrous 4 consecutive wins they had during the 70s, 80s and 90s? Liberal Democrats will lose our £ due to their love of the €, if that happens cost of living will soar! Just look at the state of the Euro Zones! The only party that has our country at heart and is for the British people and society is UKIP!

Matt,
HEAR, HEAR !!!
At last, someone who has the right idea.
I will be voting for UKIP, simply because I do not think that any of the 3 main Parties have the slightest idea about what the ‘average’ British person REALLY cares about, nor are any of them capable of giving us the good, FORCEFUL and STRONG, Leadership that we desperately need.
I care about:-
Britain’s position in the World
NOT joining the EU (and having a Referendum on it)
Immigration
Policing
24-hour drinking
Taxes
and many, many more things that would take too long to list !

It has been deemed an anti social behavior offence for British citizens not to take part in British Democratic procedures, like General and Local elections.
Is the secretary of State aware of the looting of the Ethiopian Church by a British Army and the looted Church treasures in England today, and the comments of the Voice, and Times newspapers, what is the vista of the Government and the political parties concerning this matter? Seymour Mclean.

§ Dr. Howells
There have been no requests for return from the Ethiopian Government for any of the objects in question. With regard to the manuscripts in the British Library, microfilm copies have been deposited in Addis Ababa, and scholars have access to the originals at the Library. We understand that the Ethiopian Government are content with these arrangements.

MR. MAGUIRE But surely the Parliament of the United Kingdom, who had lately called on the British taxpayer to pay £10,000,000 for the slaughter of a wretched nigger in Abyssinia, might call on the same British taxpayer to sanction the advance of £1,000,000 to Her Majesty’s Irish subjects, on the best possible security.

The voting public are requested to reserve their vote until the Leaders of the political parties explain their policies concerning the 550 looted Ethiopian manuscripts in England today and their application to the spiritual and cultural education of the British people. We are not a political party, and we are not seeking election, we are trying to inculcate the vista of the voting public to a wider point of view.

Realistically this is a three horse race (at a push). Its sad to say but people voting for UKIP, or Green and other smaller parties will not be determining who will be the next government. However getting a few seats for these smaller parties would be a good thing for parliament.
In my opinion Labour, The Conservatives, and the Liberal Democrats are all pretty poor. In Labours most recent term in Government many bad things have happened, however it is key to note that these things have been happening worldwide. I cannot see the Conservatives or Liberals making the current situation our country finds itself in any better. Therefore my faith lies with Labour as quite simply they are the best of a bad bunch.
