The Labour Party won the 2005 UK general election with 35.3% of the popular British vote. The Conservative Party was just a few points behind with points behind at 32.3% of the popular vote, but because of the first past the post voting system, the Labour Party had a significant majority with 356 parliamentary seats […]

Non of these political parties seem to have anything in common with me et al. I will vote for the first political party representitive who knocks on my door and tells me what they stand for and asks me who I’m gong to vote for. Come on you wankers get your stalls out!
It is a sad fact that the turn out at a general election for voters is so low. They say no vote is voting for the winning party. I do sincerely hope that everyone who is able bodied and of sound mind votes this time round. I will be posting something to this effect on my blog in the next few days. TV this morning reckoned that the voting would be close and even speculated about a coalition. Ladies that do not vote should remember that the suffragettes fought hard for a vote. It is sad also that politicians get paid so much and lose their roots. How can somebody on a large salary say they can represent people on low salaries and incomes.
Obviously Government is better than anarchy but there is not much between any of the major parties.
I will put a link to this site on my blog

gordon browns lies are nearly over the EU treaty we have not forgot what he as done
I’m pleased to see that you have included a None Of The Above option in your poll – the ability to withhold consent is central to the concept of democracy after all, and yet we have never had it.
But I’m not sure why you’ve included it as we don’t actually have that option in the UK – even though we should. The main reason people aren’t ticking it on here is because they know it doesn’t exist in reality, so why would they?
If we did have NOTA at the upcoming election, it would be a different story – in fact, it would undoubtedly win, leading to unprecedented electoral reform and the birth of ACTUAL democracy (as opposed to the sham illusion-of-democracy that most people settle for in the UK)
Without NOTA, it isn’t a democracy, it’s as simple as that.

I’ll vote for the first politician who answers questions honestly and tells me what they will do and what it will cost me. I’d also vote for any one who would reform the parliamentary system to proportional representation and half as many MP’s claiming expenses.
The important things are, health, education, housing, pensions and jobs followed by immigration and EU migration.

The Christian party www.christianparty.org.uk is growing in strength, with two council seats won, as well as gaining a significant vote in the European elections. They are promoting valuable policies which will strengthen family life and generally improve the economy, politics in general general and society in particular. If they have a candidate where I am, I shall vote for them. If not, I shall vote Conservative.
