According to the UK Independence Party website UKIP will try to achieve the following if they gain power at the 2010 general election:
We propose that the Executive structure, and members of the Executive, should be put on a statutory footing which would reduce the power and freedom of the executive to govern informally. We would also reform Whitehall and the Civil service to re-introduce personal responsibility and accountability, link remuneration to function not status, and improve training and promote specialisation of the Civil service.
