Mr Speaker, today’s Pre-Budget Report takes place at a critical time for our economy and for our country. “I have decided to introduce from today a special one-off levy of 50 per cent on any individual discretionary bonus above £25,000.”
Good, but £25,000 is a high starting figure, that’s almost the average national wage in a bonus! To get a £25,000 bonus you must already be earning way above the average national wage, so quite frankly considering it’s the banking sectors fault for this recession they should pay a lot more.
We all know what will happen, most bonuses will be below £24,999.99 or deferred until the following year!

Yes I was about to write a post on the new scrappage scheme for old boilers
“It will offer grants worth up to £400 for 125,000 households with old, inefficient boiler models to replace them with new, energy-saving equipment. There are 4.5 million households that could apply for this.”
Being a gas safe boiler installer, (and work being quiet lately) I thought this would be good for business. But Im trying to find more info on this at the moment.
I just hope that companies like Eaga (basically a government funded company) are not the only businesses to benefit from this.
