The reasons not to vote for AV are quite thin:
1. It is too expensive
2. Too complicated
3. The one with the most votes might not win.
1. The last time we had a referendum in this country was 40+ years ago. We can afford a few million for a fairer system or what is the point?
2. It is pretty simple to get to grips with how it works. The confusion is created by a vicious No campaign that is misleading.
3. FPP creates a two party race which forces us all to feel disenfranchised and to vote tactically, so as not to waste our vote completely. If AV can put a dent in this disillusionment and disenfranchisement of voters it is worth it. FPP is not representative of the overall vote anyway, with certain MP’s seats ‘fixed’ through gerrymandering.
The BNP btw are fighting AV. So it must be doing something right.
AV Referendum Voting Yes!
Personally I look at what each party says, it’s manifesto and I decide which ONE suits my views. I don’t have a “second” choice as at that point I have already made a decision on what I want.
All this fudging and choosing somebody to fill your second choice just seems to me to be quite mad.
In this respect even under AV I would still only select one candidate as it is incomprehensible to me how I could also favour a second candidate but not as much? seems massively childish.
Once you have weighed up the pros and cons of each party you can only come to one decision on who you want to wield power on your behalf… seems black and white to me.
Why second choice?
i voted no .. the conservatives and lib dems only introduced this so they remain in power for a very very long time , its a trick they clearly know they wont be elected next time in the old voting system they know will never stand a chance to win again, so by doing this they will have better chance of winning and they may even have control over so they might even decide who wins .. dirty conservatives and lib dems never again .. i will vote labour no matter what mistakes they did , they never did things like conservatives , and they are the best for britain, conservatives always blame labour every time they do something .. thats the only way they can make people think that what theyre doing is right .. they broke big promises ..never forgive them , a promise should be kept regardless of the situation wether they do cutbacks or not the economy will not improve either way .. economy will improve when we have a better leader who will help bring peace in the world ..only that way the economy will improve all this rubbish this that , they cut money so they can splash it at something else , regardless of everything labour has always been best for britain , david cameron the biggest liar so many times he has been caught making up stories to get a point across and always blaming labour to get away with explaining why they are making huge cuts.. as we seen what happened in japan with earthquake nothing is guaranteed in life we wanna live for today .. we want to live comfortably too , i dont understand how politicians get away with breaking promises .. they should be locked up for breaking promises and thrown out of government ,they are elected based on the promises they made so really the only new law in voting should be to kick out politicians that break promises ..if you agree then please spread the word and do something.. if our voices really matter then why are theses politicians doing whatever they feel like , wheres the power to the people..
no to av
I hope labour Party win 2015 UK election under first the post.
The Liberal democrats are only interested in power. They
have sold out on free higher education. Scotland voted SNP
because England voted in Conservative run coalition government
for next three half years to 2015. I hope the Conservative party
keep their promise on benefits and improving Basic state pension.
