I deeply suspect that the real reason that the Lib’Dem’s are supporting AV is that, traditionaly, they would be the second choice of most Labour and Tory voters.
Therefore, where a Labour or Tory candidate wins the most votes, but still polls less than 50% the Lib’-Dem’s may hope to slip in on the second round of the count.

So I’m afraid I’m voting ‘NO’ tacticaly, as the last thing I want to see is corporal Clegg w2in ANY kind of victory after the way he has betrayed his party, his supporters, students, dis-affected Labour voters who thought that voting for the Lib’-Dem’s was a ‘safe’ protest vote, and anyone else I may have forgotten.
