the only time we the people get a democratic vote is when the MP and local councillors need us to vote them in. once they are in then you can forget anything democratic. We the people need to v have a referendum on the EU, on Hanging, on Immigration, on Law and Order, but the government and MPs once they are in decide what is best and never allow us to have a referendum on any of these issues WHY? What is the point in voting when the people dont really have a say, in what they want.
