Another Racist Tory MP – Anyone Surprised?
Philip Hollobone has said he won’t talk with any constituent wearing a face veil (Burqa and Hijab) basically not doing his job. What a racist, denying to communicate with or help ANY member of his constituency who wears a face veil.
Philip Hollobone had recently launched a campaign to get the Burqa and Hijab banned in the UK you can read the post here:
But this gets juicier, his excuse for not talking to a Muslim is “I would ask her to remove her veil. If she said: ‘No’, I would take the view that she could see my face, I could not see hers, I am not able to satisfy myself she is who she says she is”. What a Numbskull!.
At last a good example of the REAL Tory; Homophobic, Racist, Rich and Culturally Afraid. At last I get to show to you good peoples reading my Blog what a true Tory looks like, and I have to warn you it isn’t pretty.

How is it racist to not speak to anyone in a burka or hijab? Is it only one race who wears them?
Islam isn’t associated with one particularly race, like Judaism is. It’s a matter of personal choice. Therefore if someone appears to be discriminating against Muslims, by definition it’s not racism, but religious discrimination…

Thank You For Your Comment PB,
I know it is religious discrimination but I just decided not to use that particular word.
In a form it is racial discrimination because they are a different ethnicity.
But in hindsight I should have used the word religious discrimination.
Thank you for pointing out my mistake, it is appreciated.

I am not in your constiituency but I would be honoured to be. One because of your expense claims and how honest your were and too on your opinion of the burkha. Its a pity you was not there to defend the people who had their cross banned.
It is not religious discrimination. Muslims do not HAVE to wear this. They can take it off. He hasn’t refused to see Muslims per se, has he?
He is making a choice based on dress, not religion. As he says, he would refuse to see people in hoodies. It is perfectly within his discretion to make that choice. It is not (yet…) prohibited to discriminate against someone for what they wear.
Now grow up.

Simon,
Wearing a Burqa for Muslims isn’t just to keep them warm it is their religion and their way of life. If they are forced to take that item off you are offending their religion.
He did NOT say he wouldn’t talk to someone in a hoodie he is just discriminating the Muslim faith.
Then again, he is a Tory.
