Home Secretary Theresa May apologises after announcing non-EU Immigration Cap to the Media before telling MP’s.

It comes after Speaker John Bercow looked into a complaint by a labour MP when the story was published in the newspapers on Monday.

He said details given to journalists and were “similar” to a statement then made to MPs and this was a “discourtesy” to the house.

Theresa May who was present at the time said she “deeply regretted” that this had happened. She continued to say “I take full responsibility for that, Mr Speaker, and I have no hesitation in apologising to the House and in assuring the House that I will ensure it will not happen again.”
