Do you think the Hunting Bans should be lifted for info visit my Election 2010 The Tories will Lift the Hunting Ban Post
Thats disgusting, the hunting ban should never be lifted, poor animals!
It’s a sport, and the animal count will rise again anyway. It doesn’t matter, just let them kill some animals.
Rob, that is a very careless way to look at it.
If you say oh it’s ok to kill foxes because the population will not be affected then that is a little of a lazy argument, these foxes are being brutally killed they suffer no end and it is despicable and cannot be stopped with the flick of a hand and saying we’ll let them do it it causes no real harm but it does.
That’s like saying it’s ok to break into a nursery and kill all the children inside because the “count will rise again anyway” we would not accept that and we shouldn’t accept the murder of harmless and innocent foxes.

The animal kingdom isnt just some replenishable resource for us to abuse and waste. As the human race evolves intellectually, and as our civilisation becomes more advanced it becomes plain to those of us that are progressing at an adequate rate that animal cruelty and abuse of nature is no longer acceptable.
whilst i understand that fox hunting may be useful to cull what some call a pest, i still cannot condone an activity that hinders the progress of mankind, because thats what it does! it brings out the very worst qualities in people because hunters ENJOY it.
To find any enjoyment through causing suffering, panic, and bloodshed should not be fun, if you think it is then fair enough-your just emotionally stunted and delusional.
Farmers-get better chicken coops, you CAN fox-proof them with extra effort.
Also the slanderous notion that fox’s kill for pleasure is untrue, when a fox gets in a coop and kills every chicken despite being unable to eat them all this is because when a fox finds food in abundance it will dispatch all the prey then attempt to return and store it, its survival instinct not malice.

I can assure you that it needs repealing – firstly, it is a law that cannot be policed – any police officer will tell you that. secondly, you have to prove intent if videoing “illegal hunting” – somthing impossible to do. Thirdly, you have to understand the other methods of pest controll that have since been deployed since the ban – they are indiscriminate, such as snairing and shooting from long range – the animal is often shot and wounded, or caught in a snair and left to hang its self over a period of four to five days. fox hunting with hounds is the cleanest, most humane method of controll – regardless what people say about toff’s in red coats – any fit or healthy fox will easily outpace a foxhound, the only foxes suseptable to being caught by a pack of hounds are ones that are old or have somthing wrong with them – thus rendering hunting a very selective clean way of pest controll. The indipendent burns enquiry set out by the labour government insisted that hunting should not be banned but instead it should be regulated – in the interest of welfare, fox hunting is the only humane, clean and sure way to controll foxes – they are either caught or healthy fit ones get away – no shot wounds, no snaring.

Thank you for your comment JRW
I agree that Fox-Hunting cannot be policed, it is too hard they cant stand in a wood with a pair of binoculars and a camouflage police van, waiting for a group of hunt-masters to ride by, policing is inefficient and impossible.
Also the fox population is not out of control, humans are a pest we have turned earth into our playground and spread like a disease, there are over 6 billion humans on earth, and about a quarter of a million foxes in the uk now who needs to be culled?
You say a young fox can outrun a dog, but a foxhound can run up to 45mph and a fox can run an average of 30mph, a dog can easily catch a fox and tear it apart while it wines in agony, and to think that the “toff’s in red coats” take sadistic pleasure in killing a defenceless innocent animal pest or not, is sickening deep down to the pit of my stomach.
To end my comment I will leave you with my finishing statement a human can survive with their stomach ripped open and innards trailed across the floor, and a fox can survive too fox hunting is NOT clean and efficient it is damn right cruel.

In response to this subject. it is not just about fox hunting i am a dedicated hare coursing man and no law, fine or term of imprisonment will change me. i have become aware lately that foxes because of increasing numbers are having to search urban streets for food as there is not enough wild animals 2feed them all and as a result fox numbers rise rabbit numbers drop! very hypocritical all of antis! also the ban is affecting quality and existance of some hound breeds such as the saluki for example…. an ancient breed, the first breed of dog to be used for hunting by mankind. this breed was naturally renowned thousands of years ago for coursing gazzele (note nature) by its own choice and was then introduced to other prey such as the hare…. as a result of the ban i am one of the very few people that now own working salukis as this hound with a natural instinct to hunt is being brainwashed into becoming a show breed which surely must be against mother natures will! dogs hunt naturally!!!

Get real
One should only hunt for food, not sport.
If the fox hunters make a clean quick kill and eat their caught fox, then I can see no harm that they make sport of the hunting.
If they don’t cause suffering to the fox before the kill, and eat it afterward, they should be free to
continue as fox hunters.

a fox hound cant run that fast thats like a greyhound but they have got stamina something a fox havent they will tire it out and catch it.
Best way to ccatch them is with 2 deerhound x greyhound lurchers with abit of terrier and call the fox in, shine your lamp and your off. withing 5 mins the fox is caught and killed and trust me a soon as 1 dog grabs it the other is on the throat give it a little shake and its dead.

But why is it the bigger the animal the more we care about it? If we squashed a bug the RSPCA wouldn’t be all over our ass, so whats the difference if they kill a fox?
I am a hunter myself and i also work i believe that if the game commission wants parents to get their children into hunting and for more people to hunt then they should lift this ban because as of right now students have to take off of school to go out hunting during the week because they only have Saturdays. You also have people taking off during the week from work to go hunting. My answer is yes they should lift this ban because i wanna hunt on Sundays.
