Hey Holli, it’s always good news to hear of young British people who have done well in their education despite the problems in schools today,.
Especially young people who at least go to A-level standard of education as it opens the possibility of University and many interesting career oaths.
So well done on the A-levels.
The support on my site for the BNP shocked me too at first, considering how little support they receive at general elections (0.7% last time) they are VERY vocal.
I think it’s great people express their views, I disagree with the what the BNP stands for, but I do see a need for the issues they raise to be dealt with more effectively by the main political parties.
It’s unfortunate the main parties always appear to be a few steps behind what they should be doing. Labour are tightening immigration laws, but they should have been tightened years ago. I know legislation takes time to pass (and rightly so, look what happens when they rush in new laws as a knee jerk reaction to terrorist threats!), but it doesn’t take a genius to realise in advance somethings not going to work long term.
A while back I watched a documentary on finding illegal immigrants and the police were finding illegals and letting them go with instructions to report to Boston in two weeks!!!
Could you imagine sneaking over the Chinese border, being stopped by the Chinese police and when they find you lack the proof you should be in China they say “report to Beijing in two weeks”!!! You’d be wondering what alternative universe you just slipped into via the Twilight Zone :-)
I’ve been watching UK Border Patrol (or is it UK Border Force?) on SKY1 and I’ve not seen anything as out right dumb as “report to Boston in two weeks” as an answer to dealing with the illegals they find.
There was one dumb incident of a man who (must have been in his thirties) who said he was 15 years old and was afraid to go home (potential asylum case). He was obviously using the immigration system to gain access as a minor (different rules) and was allowed to enter the country without being detained while the immigration service and social services (social services involved because he said he was 15) determined his age. It was reported he went missing from social services care (not secure accommodation if I read things correctly) and so is now an illegal immigrant in Britain!
OK, there are 15 year olds who look way older than 20, so each case has to be checked out, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist and a group of NASA engineers to realise if you don’t keep a person like this in secure accommodation they are going to abscond and be lost to the system! They should have held him in detention, determined his age and acted accordingly.
When a government creates a system with such obvious flaws it leaves itself open to criticism and extreme parties like the BNP jump all over it.
All I can say to someone reading this considering voting BNP on immigration issues is you don’t burn down your house because it’s got a little dry rot, yes it removes the dry rot, but it’s extreme and there are better solutions.
The same is true of the BNP response to immigration problems, BNP’s answer to stopping illegal immigration is stop all immigration forever. Yes that would stop illegal immigration, but at the cost of losing hard working, well trained immigrants British businesses need right now due to a lack of investment in our young people. I partially blame governments for the lack of investment, but also business not willing to invest in training young people!
I also blame the young people who are unwilling to strive for a decent education or training, it’s available, even in a bad school some kids get a good education, so to just blame government/business is short sighted, we need many of our young people to have an attitude adjustment and fight hard for their own futures.
When the young don’t care about their own future nothing government does will help.
