You know what though, if the Conservatives or Labour considered bringing back capital punishment due to popular demand, and used the murder of Sarah Payne as an example of why they should, would they be accused of hijacking this?
I doubt it.
Without unwittingly supporting the BNP, the media is not exactly a level playing field is it? I think there are far too many double standards and hypocrisy and it’s why the BNP maintain support, they are victimised to some degree.
If you really want to show the BNP up for what it is, then the media should give it the rope it needs to hang itself, not pounce on it for whatever they say rather than just for the ludicrous things they say.
Capital punishment at this point in time is not such an unattractive thing to a lot of taxpayers who are funding a prison population of around 94,000. The awful murder of a little girl in this manner is exactly why we should have capital punishment returned, it may not have prevented it but it would provide some justice to her parents and those who knew her and not cost the hard-working people to fund this awful man in prison.
