Well according to the Stormfront forum (can’t find the exact link to the tread at present it was a month or so back) the reason is as follows:
The BNP are concerned that the core (old school) members will reject the change of the Constitution so the BNP have decided that by making the vote happen on the 31st (a few days after the court hearing) Nick Griffin can then play a game with his own members using the line of prosecution and huge fines to sway the members to vote yes or they risk killing the party once and for all if they don’t vote yes.
However it looks like this plan could be back fire on them, as according to the original court order the change was meant to be fully agreed and the new section of the constitution prepared by the 28th, so unless they have already written it ready to be approved by the EHRC and courts then it could go a bit tits up.
That’s from the info I read a while back anyway, but it is stormfront so who knows how accurate that is.
I shouldn’t think the BNP would hang their hopes on a sympathy vote by holding out for Griffin to be arrested etc too risky in my opinion.
