I’m not normally one for conspiracy theories, but why do I feel like Nick Griffin/the BNP are setting the government up here?
If your research is correct that the BNP membership votes on the 31st of January, why would the BNP arrange for this vote 3 days after the court date?
I see four possibilities.
1. The BNP are completely incompetent and got the dates wrong!
2. The BNP are going to comply with the court ruling and hope the membership agrees a few days later (so much for the membership deciding policy etc…).
3. This is a delay tactic to keep the whites only membership rules until after the general election. The BNP might be counting on another extension for the vote to go ahead. I understand the BNP are concerned opening it’s membership to everyone could result in the lib/lab/con infiltrating it’s membership and taking over.
4. The BNP plan to play the martyr card, Nick Griffin is in breach of the court order and is arrested and put in prison for a short period of time. Nick Griffin might see this as a vote puller?
Like I said I’m not one for conspiracies, but something doesn’t sound right. I appreciate the BNP are not very good at organising things (like getting their finances in on time), but I find it hard to believe it’s a mistake they are having the membership vote 3 days after the court date.
Where’s me tin foil hat again :-)
