Comment on Reasons to Vote British National Party by David.

Not what I’d call an official BNP source for “BNP’s whistle-blowers in Westminster type policies” like I asked for.

Unless as a Wales BNP organiser you are telling us the “Home of The Green Arrow” Free Blogspot Blog is an official BNP website and everything on it can be assumed to be directly from Nick Griffin and other BNP officials like yourself?

If it’s not an official BNP blog, do you have an official BNP source for the “BNP’s whistle-blowers in Westminster type policies” you’ve suggested are a main reason for voting a couple of BNP MPs in this general election?

I was really expecting a source on the main BNP website.

If it’s a main reason for voting BNP I’d at least expect there to be a policy about it.

To some degree I kind of agree with you, a few BNP MPs won’t achieve anything politically (no BNP policy will be enacted), so without another positive reason to vote BNP all that’s left is a negative protest vote.

“Kick the buggers in the teeth” sort of thing.

If British people want to hurt the political parties that have been in power for decades, voting Liberal Democrat would do more ‘damage’ than voting BNP. The Lib Dems already have a good MP base to start from, have never been in power so you seriously can’t blame them for what’s gone before (they are practically powerless). With the possibility of a hung parliament** more MPs the Lib Dems get, more power they have over Labour or the Conservatives.

**If there’s a hung parliament we will see either a Labour/Lib Dem or Conservative/Lib Dem coalition government. It’s highly unlikely there would be another scenario.

So if all you are looking to do as a voter is hurt Labour/Conservatives (the parties of government) vote Liberal Democrat.

They at least hold the moral ground in always being against the Iraq war from day one. At the time I thought the Lib Dems were wrong to have that stance, but in hindsight…

If there was a BIG protest vote to the Lib Dems it would make the next parliament interesting.

Actually there’s a very strong argument for BNP, Green and UKIP voters to vote Lib Dems this time. They are the only main party who want proportional representation, if the Lib Dems do become part of a coalition it’s not hard to see the more MPs they have more likely they’ll get some form of PR passed. PR benefits the BNP long term far more than having a couple of MPs.

If PR is brought in for the next general election (2015 ish) then a vote for the BNP, Green, UKIP would really count and IF the BNP have the support they say they have we’d expect to see dozens of BNP MPs in just 5 short years from now.
