Comment on Reasons to Vote British National Party by David.

BNP received 6% of the popular vote in the Euro elections, yet well over 6% of the comments here are pro BNP (it’s got to be 50% pro BNP comments).

This is NOT a pro BNP website, (I’m the owner and I’m anti BNP) it’s not even a website about the BNP, this page in particular is meant to be for discussing the general election, not only the reasons for voting BNP!

I expected comments on who is going to win, would there be a hung parliament, will the Lib Dems side with Labour or the Tories in a hung parliament and yes the odd BNP comment, like will the BNP get an MP (it’s not certain they will).

Now if there was a cross section of the electorate here, we’d see around 94% of comments either not about the BNP or anti BNP (with the former being the largest share). The reason for all the anti BNP comments is because BNP supporters have flooded the comments with pro BNP information!

Few pro BNP comments would result in few anti BNP comments, when a fringe group does something like this I don’t think it’s surprising that the middle ground in politics will fight back.

The absolute cheek of it to ask anti BNP commenter’s to stop posting, you should be grateful I believe strongly in democracy and free speech and allow those I strongly disagree with (like the BNP) to comment openly without serious censorship. The same is not true for many pro BNP websites, where anti BNP comments are deleted: On Facebook for example anti BNP posters are banned from many pro BNP groups and their comments deleted (not very democratic).
