Very nice detraction from the question, so you can’t provide a list of highly educated, high achieving people from the BNP hierarchy.
Back to AdSense revenue hey :-)
So far today the site’s made 1p from AdSense (4th December made nothing)!
This month: £7.80
Last month: £48.49
Since creating the site: £85.44
I’m a bit of an AdSense ‘expert’ (I know a lot about AdSense, expert is probably a bit strong) and the above is a bit embarrassing as that’s not a lot of money considering the traffic, if you do a little research on me you’ll find my monthly AdSense revenue reports (search 45 Year Old Millionaire in Google).
I’ll let you in on a little secret about making money from AdSense.
The very best way to generate AdSense clicks is to provide a site that doesn’t quite give the visitor what they are looking for. For example I have a travel website that describes various holiday’s, but visitors can’t order the holiday online (there’s addresses and phone numbers for further details), there’s a very high tendency for the visitor to click a relevant ad. The very worst thing you can do for a site you want to make money from through AdSense is give the visitor exactly what they want.
Has anything I’ve done on this site like adding polls, adding party news (which is duplicate content and could cause Google ranking issues), making it easy to find new comments indicate I want visitors to find the site through search engines (regular visitors do not click ads, I bet you haven’t clicked one) and immediately click an ad?
What’s wrong with that?
If all I cared about was money I’d sell the exit traffic from this site, that would FAR exceed AdSense revenue, but it tends to upset visitors and they never become regular visitors/commenters which makes for a boring website for me to manage. I have websites I visit once a month, this one I’m on several hours a day because it’s interesting!
