Fear:
Fear of what exactly?
Lets face a few facts shall we,
1. The BNP has an average supporter base of 3-5% which we all know does not secure any real power.
2. The BNP are a VERY small right-wing party (born out of the National Front an openly racist organisation)
3. The LibDems have been the third party for years and hasn’r grown much in the last 10 years
4. The BNP would be lucky to get one or two MPs elected in the next election (which will NOT give them any power over policy)
5. The Nationalist Movement has a history of exploding in on itself, so there is nothing to say the BNP won’t do this again, after all that’s how Griffin took over.
6. When the BNP see nothing happening in terms of chaging laws etc after the next election (if they get MPs elected) people like Lee Barnes will start to loose it AGAIN.
So basically the isn’t much to fear from the BNP anyway, we are talking about a party that has gained less than 1 million vites (including the EU Elections and ALL the by-elections and council elections since the EU elections they haven’t reached 1 million)
So not much chance of them suddenly going from 3-5% of the vote to anywhere near enough to gain any power.
The gained TWO MEP’s (as did the Green Party with 1.2 million votes)
The biggest challenge will come from UKIP as they have a FAR more acceptable look about them to the General Public, even though some of their policies are VERY similar to the BNP.s.
So in terms of threat from the BNP is isn’t any to speak of really, I would suggest that UKIP will actually get more MP’s Elected than the BNP will.
The BNP has a lot more to do to convince this country that they could ever be electable, so we are looking at 20-30 years before they could be taken seriously (going from bot political history and reality)
By which time people like Barnes, Collette etc would have kicke off again because they have NO political brains and will yet aain mess up.
So I have NO fear what so ever of the BNP, as for personal interest EVERYONE has a personal interest in politics, what the politicians do affects ALL our lives, so yes I have a personal interest.
