The Tories’ manifesto for the elderly includes a surprising promise, to increase pensions in line with earnings, not cost of living increases. For those with long memories (I’m 75), the Tories’ first budget on being elected in 1979 was to do what? Remove this connection, thus reducing state pensions from then until now. I wouldn’t mind betting that state pensions would now be £150 per week, not the £95 we get. What dishonesty by Mr Cameron!
