My tendency would be to vote labour, however a lib-dem win would be very illuminating, even if highly unlikely. They could still hold a massive balance of power should labour still get the most votes, that I wouldnt mind.
The problem with the Tories is that millions like myself remember what happened last time. Millions lost their jobs or their pensions while Major gloated ”if it doesn’t hurt then it is’nt working” the sort of arrogant attitude you never forget.
Previously Thatcher had stood up in Parliament and said no-one would ever lose out by transferring a company pension to a private scheme, and millions like myself found out what a blatant lie that was.
The tories invented the PIA forerunner to the FSA, as regulator, it later emerged that they were staffed by and for, the benefit and protection of the Industry and not the consumer, no surprise there then.
There are just insufficient grounds to vote Tory this time round, no credible fresh start or changes are on offer. People will either drift back to labour, or disaffected Tories ladies will go over to the handsome charistmatic Clegg, the Blair effect.
