“FIRST, I am not a BNP follower”
I know, I read your earlier comments which is why I referred to you as “right wing idiot” and not a BNP idiot. Not all right wing idiots vote BNP after all, some vote National Front and others UKIP when they aren’t VERY right wing.
“When I spoke of 75% of immigrants being on benefits – that is true but I was not speaking of illegals.”
You did include illegal immigrants.
“I think 1.2 million Muslims, while others state 2 million. Add on the other million unaccounted for and hey presto – are we full. Then depending upon how you mathematics are: (let’s take the middle figure of 2 million – just to be fair!!”
Who are the “million unaccounted for” if not illegal immigrants?
“As far as illegals are concerned. If someone is an illegal that means that they should not be living here – right or wrong?”
That’s something we can agree on Kate.
I did some research for other comments and found supporting evidence the vast majority of illegal immigrants must be working and the VAST majority (almost all of them) of legal immigrants are also working or at least not claiming benefits (basically either working, being supported by someone or left Britain). Take a read of https://general-election-2010.co.uk/who-will-you-vote-for-in-the-2010-general-election-poll/comment-page-10/#comment-5140
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/5384516.stm It’s from 2006, but makes interesting reading especially as we know entrance to the UK is now harder.
It certainly dispels the myth that immigrant workers claim benefits and take council houses. Out of ~6000 claims from migrant workers for JSA/Income Support only 700 were deemed eligible. That’s for a 2 year period with up to a potential 400,000+ (600,000+ if self employed workers who don’t register are included in estimates) registered migrant workers: note it’s unlikely all those who registered to work here actually came to Britain, but if we assume 300,000 did work here only 700 claimed JSA/Income Support out of 300K.
That proves the vast majority of migrant workers pay their way while they live here. You might not agree with so many migrant workers taking jobs in Briton (I also have an issue with it), but the idea they are sponging off the system is total BS, they contribute to the economy.
700 immigrants claiming unemployment benefit out of about 400,000 is not 75%, it’s not even 1%.
You are completely wrong Kate, do the research and come back to me if you can show supporting evidence for your view that 75% of legal (or legal/illegal whatever) immigrants are claiming benefits I’d like to see it. In the meantime please stop making up ridiculous statistics and posting them on my website, it’s such a waste of my time showing how dumb some peoples comments are!
