On Thursday (29th April) we see the third and final of three Live TV Prime Ministerial debates for the three main parties leaders:
Gordon Brown : Labour
David Cameron : Conservative
Nick Clegg : Liberal Democrat
The third Prime Ministerial TV debate is hosted by the BBC with David Dimbleby as the moderator and will be shown on BBC1 at 8:30pm on Thursday evening.
The location is The University of Birmingham in the Midlands and the debate subjects will be Economic Affairs, Financing of public services, Taxation, Debt, Deficit, Public finances, Recession, Recovery, Banking and finance, Business, Pensions, Jobs.
From a personal perspective the economic prime ministerial debate is the one I’m most looking forward to.
The 1st live TV prime ministerial debate was hosted by ITV with Alastair Stewart as the moderator on ITV1 and was viewed by almost 10 million and almost all credible sources agree the Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg won on the night by a mile!
The 2nd live TV prime ministerial debate was hosted by SKY with Adam Boulton as the moderator on SKY News and was viewed by around 4 million and it was less clear who won the debate, most credible sources gave the debate to the Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg, but it wasn’t a clear win.
General election polls, including our very own weekly general election poll on this website are showing a massive jump in the polls for the Lib Dems with some polls now showing the Lib Dems in the lead for the first time!
The live TV debates has thrown the general election wide open, with the final debate on the Economy there’s everything to play for.

Whats the difference?
I’ve watched the debates with great interest but I think Labour will win hands down. My reasoning is simple, everyone I have spoken to, even those who don’t usually vote have said they will all vote Labour simply so “David Cameron doesn’t get in” and that voting Lib Dem is pointless because “they would never win” so if the majority have adapted this attitude for voting then the conclusion is clear to me.
Me, as one of those who don’t usually bother voting I am still unclear what to do as my reason for not voting has been this, and im sorry if it offends anyone; if you work for a living you will be screwed no matter who gets in.
People complain about ‘Job tax’ which is ridiculous, I fall little under the threshold for it but my wife doesn’t, she is a teacher and they harp on about education… how will that look! People complain about it and they are voting for it!
People complain about David Cameron that he will get rid of minimum wage and all kinds of other things, which I have not heard him actually say, but he too will screw ‘the public sector’ out of money.
Nick Clegg seems the best bet to me but looking at the detailed manifesto, perhaps Britain won’t get much better. If nobody wants to vote for him though he won’t win anyway.
So, again.. you work.. your screwed. Pensioners are being branded ‘in poverty’ – how? I know many including my Grandmother who keeps saying that all they do is complain when they do perfectly well. Plus, being 28 almost, will there be a state pension for me one day?? I don’t think so, therfor the ‘poverty’ pensioners should shut up at this point as I will have to work until I am dead, and why do they always increase the working age for men and not women? Men die decades earlier usually. Once again,work – your screwed.
“Vote for Change” – I like this saying as it suits all the parties – the ‘change’ is what you have left in your pocket each month after getting paid and having it taken away from you, you get to live on your ‘change’ enjoy it!
