Eloquently put, MARYANNE. I heartily agree. I suspect right now that, since the date of the election has not yet been announced, the Conservative party is in a holding pattern. After all, they don’t want to peak too early. On the other hand, I think you are correct about their inactivity. Normally, at this time, a party is attempting to find a balance between a positive and negative campaign. At present, they are doing *neither*! It does seem – as you pointed out – that the Conservatives are, rather astonishingly, choosing to take it on the chin. If they are indeed in a holding pattern, waiting for an opportunity to make a heavy, sustained attack on Labour, they at least need to keep the campaign simmering right now with some positive campaigning including broad strokes about their manifesto. For the sake of the country, I hope they pull it off.
