According to the Conservative Party website the Conservative Party will try to achieve the following if they gain power at the 2010 general election: Immigration can be a real benefit to the UK, but only if it is properly controlled with its impact on the economy, public services and social cohesion taken into account. Our […]

Same as labour, only done with more stealth and a smile.
Jim
Well that made me smile, even chuckle a little.
Blue Labour ;D
That’s comforting,i thought i was the only one using ‘Blue Labour’.oh well,ok, i’ll make mine Blu-Labour 1997!
There is only one answer, halt all immigration now, an IMMEDIATE return of ALL illegals, deport all immigrants convicted of ANY crime!
Any immigrant now here would not receive ANY benefits, would have to have sufficient funds to pay for any healthcare, education, housing etc and would not be allowed to VOTE!!

Amen I totally agree kick them all out!
I agree too..All of immigrants should leave the country now..and leave britain as broke as it is. Remember all of these immigrants pay university fees (international students rate). if the money doesn’t find its way to the society it is not immigrants fault, it is probably because of corruption, MP fees and expenses, BBC chiefs salary, university deans salary and so on.

Ha ha ha…I must admit your ignorant comment did make me chuckle, I’m a white British and I think the immigrants are being abused by chavs like you who just want to sit at home and live off taxes! Most skilled immigrants come here to support our system for lazy benefit fraudsters as they work without the ability to claim any benefits and have the privilege of being charged a 40% tax to feed scroungers. Our country disgusts me and so the conservatives, you’re some ignorant pathetic person if you agree with their views, all they’re doing is legalising racism and what does that say about us?I’m ashamed to be a part of this country as when I’ve worked away I’ve been treated with such respect and welcomed by these people. Our economy would suffer drastically if we did not have them. There’s some food for thought!

There cannot be any debate on immigration until it is stopped.I would like all parties to tell me what they are going to do to prevent the inevitable Islamification of Great Britain, please try not to fob me off on this pending, issue.
I,like many others, know of the ‘news blackout’ on the massive influx on most European Countries, when the subject is anything to do with muslim’s.

Good news from the Tory party
“The Conservatives have said they would keep the government’s points-based system but place an overall annual limit on numbers and try to attract more highly qualified migrants.”
So tighter points based system plus caps on numbers, better screening occurs and then we cherry pick the best rather than just anyone.
Well all we need now is a tighter points based system and reasonable limit caps and it should create a half decent policy.

This only applies to migrants from outside the EU.
Current EU member states are still allowed to freely enter any new member states will have some kind of transition process in place for their citizens.
I suppose this should apply to both EU and non-EU citizens. Not all of EU members are better that non-EU. In fact many skilled members of the society come from non-EU contrives.
They need to be harder on immigrants, they should also maybe think abotu introducing a law which means that they have the absolute power to trake away british citizenship from anyone who was not born in the uk when they committe a crime, the citizenship should be taken fro mthem and they should be deported. This will send out a message and it will also bring crime rates down.

I would also like to pose the question as per Bartholomew regards “inevitable Islamification of Great Britain”. Our country is slowly slipping away from its own values and is becoming an island without its own identity.
With the suggested increase in power to the Border Agency to become Border Police, what is to be done about those illegal immigrants already in the country? We also really need to start looking at those already within this country first before we continue to let more people have the opportunity to live in our country, to ensure that those really in need and who have a willingness to make a contribution rather than a drain on our economy are continued to be allowed into our country.
I live in a high % polish area and although a lot of my polish neighbours do go to work and are really making an effort to integrate into our community, there are a select few that do not work and make little or no effort with any of us at all. They also have been known to cause the most trouble in the area.
Sadly, I think the minority reflect badly on the majority as always, but these members of the minority do need investigating. What is going to be done about these groups?

Did you know how much income is obtained from he non- EU immigrants. Their contribution via taxes, expenses and visa fees on the benefits that British citizens are receiving? On the contrary non- skilled immigrants from EU are targeting British jobs. How foolish to allows people in flesh, criminals and fraudsters trade freely into the country and restrict immigrations to high standards for non-EU. Imagine what happens next? The high standards non- EU will make more money and be our bosses. The British would neither be able to find jobs and benefits would be curtailed due to lack of funding and taxes gained from non- EU immigrants. Think twice before you leap!
