I’m listening to David Cameron on BBC3 Dermot Meets David Cameron and realised a Conservative ‘untruth’. David Cameron is talking about a Big Society (which is total waffle IMO) and said they want to listen to the people and if they gain power after May 6th they’ll bring in the ability for the British people […]

What about the Labour promise to hold a referendum on the EU Constitution?
I cannot vote Conservative, it would
prey on my conscience to be party to repealing the ban on fox hunting.
Fox’s are scum anyway of killing them and rats are OK
I think YOU are scum.
As much as i find David Cameron to be a pleasant guy, and i do believe he cares and would do some good things for the country. I’m afraid at the risk of sounding like a single issue voter, I cannot vote for a party that allows a nightmare to be bestowed upon an innocent being. The war on Afghanistan adequately covers this. I believe reflect the opinion of millions of people! The very people who the Conservative party hope to serve. I will be voting BNP because i find their manifesto to be agreable from cover to cover

Wait, you believe in the extradition of every ‘non-white’ person within the UK? I do not agree with the fox ban repeal if the conservatives come into power, but I CERTAINLY do not agree with making people of another’race’ leave a country they have been living/growing up in. The fascism within the BNP is disgusting. You do know what would happen if they (god forbid) did come into power? You can kiss goodbye to the vast majority of doctors, nurses and dentists. Football will be hit as well. Migrant workers? Essential for our country to run.
There’s a reason the BNP’s ‘About us’ section on their website, and its because they are essentially white supremacist bigots who would not cope running a country such as The United Kingdom.

One point that I think people are forgetting is that if the hunting act is repealed then it will mean a return to acts such as stag hunting and hare-coursing – both as barbaric as fox hunting and both which have been successfully banned under the legislation. Yet David Cameron claims the argument for repeal is because the law is ineffective. Rubbish! Does this mean that laws on drink driving and theft should also be repealed to allow people to do what they want? What with David Cameron side-stepping questions about hunting and the fact that there seems to be a considerable effort to keep this issue off the election agenda suggests they know they have a weak argument and the only reason for repeal is because the ‘red-coats’ are still bitter at having their so-called sport taken away from them. Not a good use of political energy and time in my opinion.

I cannot vote conservative, entirely due to the fact that they support fox hunting and the rest of the other appalling blood sports. In the modern world hunting foxes and other animals for ‘sport’ is totally immorial and should not be in question. An outright ban is the only way to go.
Other than this, the conservatives would probably have secured a vote from me. Never never will I vote for them while this urgent matter is in question.

I will never vote for a party who would support a return to hunting with dogs………..
If not for this one issue, I would have voted Conservative.
It’s a fundemental belief of mine that anyone who cannot see the evilness of allowing any animal to be deliberately chased across the countryside then cornered and torn apart by another animal is incapable of sincerely caring for vunerable humans..
If any species needs to be controlled the the most humane way is the only way.

I think the ban on fox hunting is pretty pointless. Granted, many people do not agree with it, but the point is that it is a huge part of the british culture. If you are against it, then you do not have to be any part of it. Just as if you are a christian, you would not ban all other religions just because you believe they are wrong or their values are wrong.
Farmers need a way of controlling foxes, it’s a fact, they need to protect livestock and their livleyhoods. At the moment, the only way this is possible is by shooting them. As foxes are nocternal, this is usually done at night, meaning the process is inaccurate and often leaves a half injured fox to die slowly and in pain. Fox hunting as a process of control is much more humane, as the fox is dead instantly. Granted it is chased before hand, but better that than bleeding to death in the dark, wouldn’t you say?
And another thing, fox hunting is not a blood sport. The riders are there for the thrill of the ride, not the kill. The hounds are their because they are required by farmers and locals to control the pests. The people do not delight in the death of the animals, but in the joy of the ride, the community a hunt provides and the thought that we are keeping the countryside free from unwanted vermin.
Hunting has been a part of the english traditon for years. If people are so worried about cruelty to animals, perhaps we should look first towards the conditions of the slaughterhouses and the ordeals that animals go through when being sent to their deaths. Most of these, for our food industry.
It angers many country people to see what a fuss people try to make out of hunting, when there are many more important things to be looking at
P.s. hunting masters will only be aggressive if confronted by reckless and endangering sabatours. The lengths these people will go to end a hunt is completley ridiculous, and often leads to serious injury to both animals and riders.
The video above is totally unrepresentative

Interesting that this pro fox hunter in another comment said:
“screw all this political crap get royalty back in the big chair”
Note: 12 minutes between the two comments and using the same IP address, definitely the same commenter or at best the same Internet connection.
So you want fox hunting to be legal again and you want the Royal family running the country. Yep, you are definitely representative of the average British person you might meet in a pub :-)
Which century are you from?
I look forward to the Royal hunts with the King on horse back chasing down the odd stag or two with a bow and arrow.
You know it used to be part of our culture to burn people accused of being a witch, I’m sure plenty of people enjoyed that old British custom in the day, should we bring that back as well?

I agree and while we are at it lets send 8 year old girls back down the mines i’m sure they wouldn’t qualify for the minimum wage, then us adults could go and watch the local cock fight or bear baitng attractions
