I’m happy to say that both Labour and the Lib Dems** will not repeal the hunting ban.
** Saw Nick Clegg talking to Paxman on TV and he said the Lib Dems wouldn’t take a second look at the hunting ban and if there was another vote, Nick Clegg would vote to keep the hunting ban.
What’s rather sad about those against the hunting ban is the hunters can still hunt with dogs (so the hunt isn’t illegal). What they can’t do is allow their dogs to rip a fox to pieces while it is still alive.
The only real difference is the way the fox is killed (if it is killed). Why do they need to actually kill the fox with dogs?
Is that really such a bad law?
IMO it’s a reasonable compromise, the majority of British people don’t want foxes hunted by dogs, but a small minority have traditionally hunted foxes with dogs. The only change is they can’t kill the fox with the dogs, if this is about pest control the only difference is now the hunt has to shoot the fox instead of rip it to pieces via dogs.
I don’t see a problem, it’s a reasonable compromise that appears to be working since the hunts are still around hunting.
A hunt went through where we live recently (Skegness) and the hunting dogs chased a little dog off the beach and into a boating lake https://www.skegnessstandard.co.uk/news/police-probe-skegness-beach-hunt-dog-chase-1-1345282
What a wonderful sport these people follow!
