One point that I think people are forgetting is that if the hunting act is repealed then it will mean a return to acts such as stag hunting and hare-coursing – both as barbaric as fox hunting and both which have been successfully banned under the legislation. Yet David Cameron claims the argument for repeal is because the law is ineffective. Rubbish! Does this mean that laws on drink driving and theft should also be repealed to allow people to do what they want? What with David Cameron side-stepping questions about hunting and the fact that there seems to be a considerable effort to keep this issue off the election agenda suggests they know they have a weak argument and the only reason for repeal is because the ‘red-coats’ are still bitter at having their so-called sport taken away from them. Not a good use of political energy and time in my opinion.
