I know it’s very early days for Ed Miliband as the new Labour leader, but I’m interested in know how others feel about his chances of steering Labour up to the next general election and beyond? Is Ed Miliband a breath of fresh air for the Labour party, taking a small step to the center […]
Continue Reading Can Ed Miliband Win the Next General Election for Labour?
In what sense do the last two paragraphs relate to the question? Possibly the author is indicating that in his opinion, Ed M. a character flaw which will affect the next GE in 2015.
David and Ed Miliband come from very different positions on the political scene. David is much more ‘authoritarian’ and ‘conservative’ in his economic policies. Ed is on the ‘liberal’ and ‘progressive taxation’ wing. I believe that the electorate are much more in agreement with Ed Miliband than David, and the little publicised opinion polls of attitudes, to the banks for example, support this view.
The answer to the question is therefore, a cautious ‘Yes’, but will depend on the capacity of the LP to side-step the overwhelming hostility of the media, and the power elite who have had a strangle hold over the LP for the last 16y.

no he cannot because he isnt as good looking as his brother. fact. end of, however if he delivers well for his party then he may be in woth a chance to do so but if he cant then we are buggered
Just because you think he is not good looking does not mean he can not win the election, thats stupid.
Providing he can reconnect with the people he lost and connect with people he wants to win, Labour will win the next election.
Conservatives never could win the election outright for one reason and one reason only:
People where scared that they where going to return to how they where when John Major was in goverment.
People thought if they Vote in Lib dems they actaully voting labour cos there slighty similar, that way they keep conservatives out,
well they failed there.

I do not really care the people at the bottom are going to suffer no matter who wins, Labour are now even closer to the Tories then ever before even under Ed the red.
Love it Red Ed the only way he will be red if Cameron belts him on the nose.
I love the fight to save the middle class child benefit while telling the sick and the disabled you have had it. Great plan follow the Tories hoping to pick up scraps.
I think I’ll follow the Tories for a while.

No he cant because they will make our country bankrupt by spending and wasting to much money.
Ed could win, it depends exactly what happens at the end of the winter in regard to the spending cuts, and also what the result of them is in 4 years time.
My gut feeling is that Ed can win, as long as he doesn’t do anything silly for the media to leap on.
Cameron is definitely creating a generation of Labour supporters, who will hear about the boom of the naughties and have to live the decline.

No Ed Milliband will not win Labour the next election at all.The bloke is a complete Jackass who doesn’t understand that it was a Labour government that has virtualy bankrupted us,but that is and always will be a typical Labour attitude, they and their supporters NEVER take responsibility,it is always someone elses fault.
