David and Ed Miliband come from very different positions on the political scene. David is much more ‘authoritarian’ and ‘conservative’ in his economic policies. I believe that the electorate are much more in agreement with Ed Miliband than David, and the little publicised opinion polls of attitudes, to the banks for example, support this view.
The answer to the question is therefore, a cautious ‘Yes’, but will depend on the capacity of the LP to side-step the overwhelming hostility of the media, and the power elite who have had a strangle hold over the LP for the last 16y.
