Comment on BNP Immigration Policy by David.

At first reading the asylum seekers BNP policy doesn’t sound too bad.

It’s true that all asylum seekers whom seek asylum in the UK are either bogus OR could find refuge closer to home. Well duh!!!

In principal we shouldn’t see any legitimate asylum seekers since with the UK being an island surrounded by developed/safe nations who in general do not persecute their inhabitants, we have a natural buffer zone from troubled regions.

However, what sort of message does this send out to the world and our children?

My wife and I have tried to teach our children to protect those who are weaker than they are, our 15 year old son (home educated until 15) recently started at a local comprehensive school. In the first week he got into a fight over another student (younger) being bullied, he didn’t know the child, but knew it was wrong and intervened and got into a fight (he won). That is one of the best things about being British, we defend the weak, support the under dog, not turn away and say tough, not our problem!

Are the BNP saying people who are persecuted thousands of miles away are not Britain’s problem and should look for asylum elsewhere?

I would hate to think what would happen if the shoe was on the other foot. Lets imagine a worse case scenario of sea levels rising so much (global warming) that many parts of the UK are flooded and uninhabitable (it could happen, or maybe some other disaster: maybe the BNP gain power and half the non-white British flee in panic :)). Who are we to turn too for help housing our people?
