I realise I’ve got the entire policy on this site (it’s part of the BNP Defence Policy), but I was hoping as you do far more BNP research than I do you’d stumbled on more details on this BNP policy.
The BNP officials or at least their members and supporters must have discussed it online, they have so many websites and as has been shown on my site are very vocal.
You’ve seriously not read anything from a pro BNP source as to what this policy entails beyond what’s in the BNP Defence policy: “Restore national service for our young with the option of civil or military service.”?
As I said on the BNP Defence policy page:
As a parent with pain the arse teenagers I like the concept of national service. Not sure I’d want it like it used to be with a significant period of national service, but I think having some kind of national service (something that builds discipline and maybe a bit of pride in themselves and their country) could help many young people.
Obviously I wouldn’t want it linked with a right to vote, but if 16 to 18 year olds aren’t doing anything productive with their time (not working, not in eduction) why not a 3 month period of voluntary National Service?
Also found something in the BNP General Election 2005 manifesto:
On satisfactory completion of their period of National Service, all suitably qualified youngsters will become eligible to receive a university education (just as the less academic will be entitled to proper paid apprenticeships or training and aid in running their own businesses) without fees or debts.
The compulsory National Service system discussed elsewhere in this Manifesto would begin at the age of 18 with a period of basic training in the army. This would include full training with the citizens’ assault rifle. Conscientious objectors who refuse to undertake military service would be allocated other constructive work for the community, but would not receive the citizen’s right to be armed, or the right to vote.
Individuals would be free to refuse to undertake any form of National Service, but such a refusal to serve the community for the common good would result in their not being entitled to free places at university, on training courses or selfemployment
schemes. Whereas some other politicians mouth platitudes about there being “no rights without responsibilities”, we mean it.Urgent research work will be carried out into the potential benefits of a massive remineralisation scheme, carried out with National Service labour.
A graduated land-tax related to the size of holdings
and the quality of land involved, incentives to new young farmers, and the extensive use of National Service labour will all be employed to transform the
south and east of England in particular
So the BNP’s national service isn’t even what I thought it was, I assumed it meant some army training, but it would appear it’s also free labor!
