The policy that reads “Review all recent grants of residence or citizenship to ensure they are still appropriate”, to my mind means exactly that, a “review”. It does not imply automatic removal. As far as I am concerned if a person has gained legal citizenship and is not breaking any of our laws (not including parking tickets) then I don’t have a problem with it. On the subject of the Danish voluntary repatriation scheme not working, Denmark is not only a very liberal country but also a very clean, pleasant and prosperous place to live, so something must be working. It’s true that mainly due to our benefit culture many of our young people do not want to work but I do not see how importing a foreign workforce to displace them is the correct solution. Surely it’s better to try and get these young people back into the culture of work. A scheme whereby people would be required to do a certain amount of work to recieve benefits or training has been proposed by the BNP. In other words to recieve money you must be prepared to do something for it!
