As a parent with pain the arse teenagers I like the concept of national service. Not sure I’d want it like it used to be with a significant period of national service, but I think having some kind of national service (something that builds discipline and maybe a bit of pride in themselves and their country) could help many young people.
With regards pulling out of NATO and removing our troops from Germany. If I recall correctly from research for my 15 year old son who has considered joining the army, around 50% of our troops serve in Germany at any one time. Germany is a major training area for our troops, so we’d need new training bases.
More importantly one of the benefits of being a member of a coalition like NATO is we are friends with it’s members and so less likely to ever have a serious conflict with one of them and so need less battle ready troops. In World War I on the Somme we lost almost 20,000 British troops in one day, with a further 30,000+ injured!
Do we really want to break close ties with countries like France and Germany when we look back at our history with them? As I see it right now we will never go to war against a European country, because of these close ties, but if we break from NATO and start looking inwards (as other BNP policies suggest) we leave ourselves open to conflict in the future.
I take it closing foreign bases also include US bases. They are our closest allies and without them we’d have not helped win WWII. As I see it (and I’ve studied World War 2 in some detail) we and the Russians held off the Axis powers by the skin of our teeth. When the Americans entered the war they brought in to play a decent amount of man power and an impressive number of war machines when they turned their civilian manufacturing industry to a war industry. Without the American’s World War 2 could have gone the other way!! We’d be nuts to not foster our ‘special’ relationship with them, even if occasionally it results in mistakes like Iraq.
We may live on an island, but do we really want to be an island among potential enemies who have little to gain by being our allies under a BNP government?

David, any future war in Europe would be both stupid and very very short, considering some of us have nuclear weapons.
Why are you afraid of the BNP? You said in an earlier post that they stand no chance of gaining power, so what is the problem?
If you truly believe the BNP stand no chance of victory, then you have it in your power to send a very powerful message to the mainstream, make them sit up and take notice, without fear of the consequences.
I urge you to stop supporting labour and vote BNP – you know it makes sense!

I’v always voted Labour, but the BNP is the only way forward for this country.
The truth does hurt unfortunately but it is an unavoidable consequence of living with Politacally correct jargon which really does not get down to the nitty gritty.
The home counties of the north who have not faced racist abuse from blacks and asians in the South of England, can not comprehend what us white natives of britain face. Until you have worked in Tower Hamlets and Hackney then please White Britain because you have not faced their poor little us culture then do not believe that when they arrive on you door step making your life hell, well the BNP like Enoch Powell are sending out the red alert today, sit up shut up and listen. The BNP like Encho Powell are not racist they are realistic and more educated that the Politically correct theorist who would like to re-invent the wheel and make us all appear perfect and bend our tolerance beyond belief.
I think Jack straw should be thrown out onto the streets in Hackney with 50p and directed to the local church where he can spew his conscience up!
Supporting the British mean supporting the British. I must say there are black and asian who are british citizens unfortunately. We need a first national statust system in this country. First come first served! First in last out!, the british are being treated fifo, first in first out, treating deacent british stock like we are obsolete or something.

David, I served Her Majesty for Several years in the Colonial Police and later in the Territorial Army in the UK, so you might say I know a little of what I speak.
The USA only joined the war when forced to by Japan attacking Pearl Harbour, before that there was quite a strong anti war lobby in the USA! Yes the war materials that were initially supplied on “Lease Lend” and eventually the manpower that came were essential but at an enormous cost both financially & politically. By 1943, the year American troops were actually used in N.Africa & Europe, the tide had turned against the Nazi’s, El Alamein in N. Africa & Stalingrad in Russia. In fact if you look at the enormous numbers of Nazi troops tied up on the Russian front, that was the biggest reason for the Nazi defeat! True without American help the Italian & French landings would probably not have happened!
The cost to Britain was financial stagnation for almost 20 years and the loss of our Empire, as part of the original “lease lend” deal, Churchill had to agree to give independence to its colonies post war. The Americans were adamant on that as they were rabidly against our Imperialism.
As for today, Brown is already talking of bringing our troops back from Germany to send them to Afghanistan.
My son, now fortuneately out of the forces, served in Kosovo & Iraq. Whilst in Kuwait awating the order to invade Iraq, his unit were not allowed to dig slit trenches as protection against potential air attack for “health & safety” reasons ( someone might fall in them), their base did eventually come under “Scud” attack without casualties thank god! During the build up there was not sufficient ammunition for their weapons, so he was delighted to be told to help bring in some fresh ammunition from the docks only to discover it was all BLANK rounds! on the 2nd day day of the invasion he was detailed to take charge of the escort of a supply convoy going up to an airfield that had just been liberated. Standing orders were that every rifleman had to have 6 full magazines & 200 spare rounds, my sons unit were only issued with 4 magazines, no additional rounds, rather than refuse he took his unit to an American Marine Base just down the road , where he had made some friends & scrounged sufficient ammo to carry out the mission safely! He told me that the Americans nickname for the British troops was “The Borrowers” for this very reason. Oh & they had to buy their own desert proof boots & several other bits of kit as well.
The closure of virtually all Military medical facilities here is a digrace leading to our wounded troops being placed in civvy hospitals where they have been abused and attacked by some Asians. Lack of proper equipment in Afghanistan is costing lives, My son has lost several of his former colleagues in Iraq & Afghanistan & Many of those remaining are v. unhappy at the state of affairs with our forces. All down to this useless govt who spend more on pay for a traffic warden than they do for a lad who risks his life day in day out for our country! Vote BNP to try & put this right, get our troops home, police our own borders & keep out the illegals that are flooding in!

Hello their, I would just like to start off by saying that l am not a racist but l do believe that Great Britain should be primarily British. I do agree with National Service as l joined the Navy as a teenager and it made me strong mentally and physically, gave me a sense of worth and discipline. Before writing this l looked at the BNPs policies and could not disagree with them, I found no fault with Nick Griffin’s ideas and views. My wife and I have never voted but for the 2010 General Election will WILL be voting BNP not because we are racist, But because we want our Country back. America has America the French have France the Polish have Poland so why can’t we ‘ THE NATION ‘ have Britain.

Well answers to the question of why have the british spread hebrew Scriptures. My name comes from the Labour Party, 1793 where it was formed by my family at Gartmore House in Stirling. Do a search on Google and read the history.
The Labour party was formed for workers rights, for the barbarack capatalists who pushed people around and we can understand why reforms needed to take place.
However the Labour Party has gone too far and People like Jack straw are at the other extreme. So I am a converted Labour party follower who is supporting the BNP. I am not racist I am a first class working class girl from Newcastle Upon Tyne who has been subjected to the divide and concur tactics of the so called elite, running schools in Tower Hamlets and Hackney, asking me how to do their jobs. This is the truth. Using blacks and packis, putting their arms around them and stuff I practically vomited at work. The school keeper was arrested for being a peodofile and they refused to listen to me. It was not a school it was a knocking shop, I was so disgusted in their behaviour it ended up walking out suffering from stress.
