All we need to keep ourselves safe from invasion is our nuclear DETERRENT.
For those who say it doesn’t work, we haven’t had a DEFCON 1 moment yet.
NATO was more about US hegemony in Europe (and to scare of the commies) than to actually defend individual Nations. It is now redundant due to the fact that the Cold War has ended as well as the above. And I’m sure we’ll still be friends with our real allies instead of the hanger-on States.
And personally, I’d like to see the Royal Navy and the RAF expanded. A lot of valuable skills to be had in those services, not so much in the army… unless you want to be a safe-cracker.
