Conservative 4,198,394 27.7% 26 MEPS
UK Independence Party 2,498,226 16.5% 13 MEPS
Labour 2,381,760 15.7% 13 MEPS
Liberal Democrats 2,080,613 13.7% 11 MEPS
Green Party 1,303,745 8.6% 2 MEPS 0
British National Party 943,598 6.2% 2 MEPS
Scottish National Party 321,007 2.1% 2 MEPS
Plaid Cymru 126,702 0.8% 1 MEP
So actually it wasn’t such a victory under PR really, and the overall vote increase for the BNP was just 1.3% so not really a surge in support was it.
The Green Party increased their vote share by 2.3% UKIP kicked the BNP’s arse basically, and they will more than likely end up getting MPs elected in the next General Election as they are fielding 550 MPs in the next election against the BNPs 200, of which they are going directly up against the BNP in as many seats as possible so with the image of UKIP being more acceptable than that of the BNP I would suggest that UKIP stands a far better chance of gaining Westminster seats.
