Well actually let me correct you on the point of the BNP Vote share then shall I:
1. The EU Elections the BNP got just over 945,000 votes
2. Tory over 4 million
3. UKIP over 2 million
4. Labour over 2 million
5. The Greens 1.2 million
so A LOT more than the BNP then, the two EU seats the BNP currently have where won on LESS votes for the BNP than the previous EU election (so lower vote share) but that’s proportional representation for you. (don’t believe it go check the official numbers)
6. There have been three Westminster MP By-Election elections since the EU election the BNP polled under 5% in ALL of them.
So as you will see there isn’t much of a surge in the BNP share of the vote really, and average of 5% voter share will NOT get one MP elected as Westminster isn’t voted on PR so no chance really.
I could post you a massive calculation of vote share if you like, but I am sure you either already know the figures or could simply use the BBC website to get ALL the election results and see that the BNP hasn’t yet reached 1 million votes this year including the EU elections and all the by-elections since.
